In your role as an Entrance Volunteer:
- Welcome students (faculty/staff) as they enter the SERC lobby. Begin by asking them if they are here for Pool Testing. Bring them further into the SERC, rather than stand at the entrance, to ensure that they are social distancing and avoiding a bottleneck situation.
- Confirm that students (faculty/staff) have completed their on-line registration. If they have not registered, they must do so, including their insurance information. The app will not let them continue without their insurance information.
- Have them step aside to complete their registration. There will be 2-separate lines for those who are registered and those who need to register.
- If they do not have their insurance information with them, they will have to reschedule through: 1. students contact Hazen, 2. staff/faculty contact HR
- Ask them to have their phone app (or computer) open and ready to go while waiting in line to check in.
- Assist students (faculty/staff) in getting to the “orange triangle” on the app.
- IF they do not have a cell phone to use, they can use the computer kiosk to open their COVID-19 Surveillance Account. They will get in line to check in with Greeters, answer COVID questions, then sent to kiosk to open their registration.
- Ask students to have their student ID available (or at very least confirm that they know their banner ID number). Ask staff to have their faculty/staff ID or driver's license.
- Work with Front End Charge Person as needed and ask any questions.
The Welcome volunteer role includes the above responsibilities and includes standing for much of the shift which can be anywhere between 2-4 hours and at times could involve interactions with others in a proximity (closer than 6 ft) for a short period of time (up to 5 minutes of less) on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
