In your role as a Greeter:
- As student (faculty/staff) approach, ask them their name. You may need to see their ID for spelling. (Note: most should already be set on 1a-c)
- Verify STUDENT ID (faculty/staff) and that they have their mobile device.
- If not, they are asked to come back with both.
- Verify they started registration. (They should already be at the “orange triangle” on their registration app prior to reaching you.)
- If not, step aside and register before entering. Will need insurance information to register. (Most will already be at this point in the process.)
- No cost to the student, staff or faculty if insurance does not cover the college will cover all testing costs.
- Check for their name on the excel spreadsheet.
- Ask participant if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 12-weeks.
- If yes, then make a note on the list next to their name and let them know that they cannot be tested again until they reach the 12+ week mark, and that they can leave.
- Ask participant if any current COVID-19 symptoms.
- Volunteer to re-emphasize this rather than participant going through the line. If yes to COVID symptoms, advise the student to CALL the Health Center 585-395-2414, stay masked, keep 6-foot distance from others and go directly home.
- If no COVID symptoms- verify that they have not eaten (including gum or mints), drank, vaped, smoked or chewed for past 30 minutes. No brushing of their teeth for 3-hours.
- If they cannot verify this, they exit and return in an hour or at the end of the testing.
- Use dropdown box to reflect answers to questions above. Also write a brief note in the “Note column” to the right with any relevant information.
- Look next to their name in excel and send them to either line 1 or 2 as noted. If no line is noted, either ask the front-end charge person or determine which line is shorter and send the person to that line.
The Greeter volunteer role includes the above responsibilities and includes sitting and working at a computer managing excel spreadsheet data for much of the shift which can be anywhere between 2-4 hours while speaking and listening to individuals within a proximity (closer than 6 ft) for a brief period (up to 5 minutes or less) on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
