In your role as an Attendant 1(two part role):
Main role:
- Ask the student (faculty/staff) to open their COVID-19 Surveillance Account using their cell phone.
- IF they do not have a cell phone or laptop, they will have to use the kiosk to open their account and be given their collection test kit, then sent to Attendant.
- Attendant asks student (Faculty/Staff) to click I HAVE A TEST KIT on their COVID-19 Surveillance Account.
- Click ALLOW access to take a picture.
- If a cell phone or laptop does not allow access, proceed to entering the test kit barcode number.
- Attendant will hold the TEST KIT so participant can take a picture of the barcode and barcode number with their phone. Do not open the collection kit.
- Student (faculty/staff) enters the collection test kit barcode, linking it to themselves.
- Attendant reads the barcode number to the student (faculty/staff).
- Ask the Student (faculty/staff) to copy and paste the barcode to the second line. They can re-type the number instead if needed.
- Then click validate. (They do not need to re-read the barcode to you at this point)
- Verify the student (faculty/staff) has entered the correct barcode. This page has a green CHECK MARK at the top of the page.
- The participant should read barcode from their mobile device, while you verify the number on the collection test kit.
- If they do not match, the student (faculty/staff) is asked to correct the barcode number before proceeding. Click the EDIT PENCIL to the right of the barcode. Verify again by reading the barcode number to the student (faculty/staff).
- Strict adherence to this procedure is critically important.
- Participant clicks finalize, then receives a Thank You email/text.
- Ask student, staff/faculty to put their phone/laptop away, hand them test kit and ask them to use hand sanitizer as they walk to Attendant 2. They are not to open their test kit until they reach the next station.
- Participant now moves on to Attendant 2 with their collection swab.
Main role at the kiosk:
- Ask the staff/faculty (student) to login into their COVID-19 Surveillance Account on the Kiosk.
- Ensure that they have completed all of the required questions and reach the orange triangle that says I HAVE A TEST. Follow same steps as above through #7.
The Attendant 1 volunteer role includes the above responsibilities and includes standing for much of the shift which can be anywhere between 2-4 hours and reading aloud small print numbers while interacting with others in a proximity (closer than 6 ft) for a brief period (up to 5 minutes of less) on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
