King for a Day is a community service initiative in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. happening on January 25th from 9:30 am- 2:00 pm.
We will be going to the East High School for the Kick-Off, where breakfast will be provided. The Kick off will begin at 9:30 am and then we will travel to our volunteer sites at 10:30 am. We will return to campus no later than 2 pm. We will be serving at Writers and Books, a literary center based in Rochester, N.Y. that fosters and promotes reading and writing as lifelong activities through classes, youth camps, community events, and author appearances. We attract individuals of all ages and backgrounds within and beyond the greater Rochester area. Our programs are numerous and varied, reaching more than 25,000 people per year. Volunteers will be helping with some cleaning and moving furniture out of their basement.
