Welcome Brockport Eagle Service Trips(BEST) to campus! This is a program housed in the Office of Community Development. During academic breaks, students will have the opportunity to engage in community service outside of the Brockport community. During the spring semester, a group of students had the opportunity to travel to Texas and help rebuild homes that are still recovering from Hurricane Harvey. Then over spring break, a group of students went down to Memphis, Tennessee to serve at a local high school and after school program. This coming weekend during Fall break, a group will be traveling to Detroit, Michigan to serve with a local organization that focuses on eradicating poverty in their community.
We are looking to take another service trip down to Texas, this time in Houston during Winter break, January 4th-18th. Volunteers will be serving with All Hands and Hearts in helping to restore communities in the Houston area by repairing homes and schools affected by Hurricane Harvey. This will be a two week service trip, taking place January 4th-18th. We will being flying in and out of the Rochester airport.
Total Cost = $550
- Cost covers housing, food during work days, and flights to and from Houston
- Application is due Friday, October 25th
