Who We Are
NYS Parks is responsible for maintaining over 350,000 acres of public land throughout the state. Environmental stewardship is an important aspect of our mission to preserve the state's natural, historic, and cultural resources for NYS residents and visitors.
What We Do
Within the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, the Division of Environmental Stewardship and Planning is tasked with conserving the diverse ecosystems found in our parks. Invasive species management is one facet of this work.
