What We Do
Founded in 2017, Taproot’s mission is to support community gardens through programs, materials, and policy advocacy, and to use urban agriculture as setting for high quality youth workforce development. Our vision is a City of Rochester filled with thriving neighborhoods. Taproot’s programs focus on community gardens in neighborhoods that suffer from environmental injustice, low food access, redlining and disinvestment. Approximately 60 gardens a year participate in our programming.
