Volunteer: Pediatric Hospitality Cart Volunteer at FF Thompson Hospital

Pediatric Hospitality Cart Volunteers operate and maintain a mobile cart for pediatric patients and their families on various units at Thompson FF Hospital. The mobile cart offers snacks, toys and bring joy to children and their family members who are admitted in the hospital. We're still determining the launch date of this cart, tentatively looking to launch on January 1st but could potentially be February 14th if volunteers need more time to onboard! The cart will run Monday-Sunday, 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Preparing and stocking inventory for the cart.

Serving snacks following food safety guidelines.

Respecting patients confidentially.

Interacting with hospital staff.

Following appropriate processes and products for cleaning up.

Updating inventory reports.

This program will be supported by Volunteer Companions, who will provide companionship, assist with facilitated activities, and help create a sense of belonging in a supportive, dementia-friendly environment. The program will run weekly on Thursdays, with a session from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and a second session from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Volunteers can sign up for one to two sessions per week. There will also be a monthly Wednesday dinner.
