Family Room Volunteers oversee a lounge area at Golisano Children's Hospital, committed to the RMHCR mission of promoting children's health and well-being. This Family Room offers refreshments, snacks, and a tranquil space for families of children receiving treatment, as well as complimentary laundry and private shower facilities.

Welcoming and registering visitors to the Family Room

Operating equipment to brew coffee and bake cookies

The goal is to increase understanding of dementia and promote early detection, prevention strategies, and caregiving support.

The St. Leo Respite Program provides support and respite services to people living with dementia and their families. Participants will engage in friendly conversation, play games, and enjoy activities in a safe and fun environment while their caregivers have respite. This program will be supported by Volunteer Companions, who will provide companionship, assist with facilitated activities, and help create a sense of belonging in a supportive, dementia-friendly environment. The program will run weekly on Thursdays, with a session from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and a second session from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Volunteers can sign up for one to two sessions per week. There will also be a monthly Wednesday dinner.
