Monroe County Office of Traffic Safety & STOP-DWI

Who We Are

Our team promotes comprehensive roadway and child passenger safety through education, enforcement programs (including impaired driving prevention and school bus protection), and community collaboration. This collaboration includes our team's facilitation of the Community Traffic Safety Team Program and the Traffic Safety Board.

What We Do

Roadway safety affects everyone in our community. Our team develops and coordinates comprehensive traffic safety programs for all ages, hoping to demonstrate why making the right choices can keep us safe. These programs can include presentations, traffic safety fairs with many hands-on activities, a combination of both, fun games, and any other choice the host would like us to create to best deliver the information. We also run the Victim Impact Panel program for DWI defendants who are referred by court and probation.
Within the Office of Traffic Safety our programs include the STOP-DWI program to prevent impaired driving, bicycle safety, seat belt safety, school bus safety (including enforcement with the School Bus Safety Program), railway crossing safety, teen driver safety, motorcycle safety, pedestrian safety, mature driver safety, child passenger safety (including car seat checks and fittings), and anything else that may apply within our community and keeping all modes of transportation safe.
