Who We Are
GO ART! (Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council) is a nonprofit arts organization based in Batavia, New York, serving the rural communities of Genesee and Orleans Counties. Our mission is to inspire a creative, inclusive community through the power of arts, culture, and traditions.
We act as the region’s primary arts service organization, providing funding, programming, and access to cultural experiences that might not otherwise be available in a rural setting. Through partnerships with over 50 community organizations, schools, and municipalities, we work to ensure that the arts are accessible to all, regardless of background, income, or experience level.
Our space is a vibrant, multi-use arts hub featuring galleries, classrooms, performance areas, a community kitchen, and public gathering spaces. We are committed to equity, representation, and community voice, regularly engaging residents through events, surveys, and collaborative programming.
What We Do
GO ART! provides a wide range of programs and services designed to engage, educate, and empower the community through the arts.
We administer public funding through New York State’s Statewide Community Regrant program, supporting artists, nonprofits, and municipalities across the region. We also produce year-round programming including art exhibitions, performances, workshops, festivals, and cultural events that celebrate diverse traditions and perspectives.
Our initiatives include youth and adult education programs, community storytelling projects, public art and mural initiatives, and large-scale festivals such as Juneteenth, Día de los Muertos, and regional music and arts festivals. We also offer inclusive programs like Pay-What-You-Can events, Safe Zone trainings, and community conversations to ensure all voices are welcomed and represented.
Volunteers play a vital role in everything we do, from event support and community outreach to assisting with classes, exhibitions, and special projects. Whether someone is interested in the arts, education, event planning, or nonprofit work, GO ART! provides meaningful opportunities to make a direct impact in the community.
